1. Site survey and preparation
– Note that the concrete or tile floor must be plastered flat. If the floor is not up to standard, it will affect the aesthetics and durability of the wooden floor above.
– Prepare enough electrical outlets for cutting machines, drills, etc.
– Estimate the bottom edge of the door to be about 25-27mm from the floor (20mm thick floor) 2. Make an installation plan
– Choose the type of wood and construction materials suitable for the project.
– Check and treat the floor surface. Before installation, the floor surface must be leveled, and rough areas must be treated to make them flat. After leveling, the surface must be cleaned.
2. Installation
– Spread a 3-5mm thick layer of foam or rubber in the area where the wooden floor is installed – about 40mm from the base of the wall. The foam or rubber layer will help with soundproofing, heat insulation and moisture resistance.
– Use tape to stick the 2 lining layers together or overlap the 2 lining layers.
– Start installing the floorboards from the left corner of the room, always following the direction of the light source to highlight the wood grain.
– Maintain a distance of about 10mm between the baseboard and the wooden floor & the distance between the wooden floorboards to join the last board. Besides, this is also a safe distance for the wooden floor to expand.
– The final step in the patterned flooring process is to use a strip to finish the floor with the final panel.
– Cover the gap between the last board & the baseboard with baseboard or finish strip.
– Install the baseboard, fix the baseboard to the wall with specialized screws and nails – Check the entire floor, apply silicone glue and gaps close to the wall and door frame
